Technique Clinic

A workshop in baile flamenco.

All levels of dance experience welcome.

Participants will learn and better understand some specific dance techniques to be demonstrated and analyzed through armwork and footwork (pasos), hand-clapping and verbal support (compás, aire, jaleo), use of skirt (falda), and male and female line, posture, and attitude. The last half hour is devoted to individualized help for participants.

Workshop taught by Alicia Morena-di Palma, who trained in Spanish Flamenco Dance in Spain with Rosita Durán in the Jondo lineage "el principio del gitano," and with Teresita Zalbidea, Paco Romero, Rafael de Córdoba, La Tati, Tosa Niki, Lupe del Rio, Rosa Montoya, Adela Clara, Miquel Santos, Cruz Luna, La Lourdez, and Teo Morca.
